Liesel-ness

Liesel Meminger is the main character of the book called; “The Book Thief”. She is ten years old, with blond-ish hair and brown eyes, I believe. She lives with her foster parents, Hans and Rosa Hubermann on a street called “Himmel” street,in english is Heaven, and she had a brother named Werner, but he had died in a train due to illness. Her mother couldn’t afford to take care of her.

 

Liesel is quite the character I must say. When she arrived at her foster parents home, she would not get out of the car until Hans asked to get out. Plus, she wouldn’t even bathe until two weeks after. She also has this friend at school named Rudy Steiner. Rudy was practically obsessed with Jesse Owens and once dressed as him.

Liesel is described to be quite tom-boyish, in the book. And she enjoys playing soccer with the local neighborhood kids. Hans, her step father is nice to her and teaches her how to read+write. While Rosa is mean to her and beats her if she does something wrong.

Liesel kind of has a sad life in this book. Her foster family is kind of poor, too. She has to steal books from the library, hence since the book is named “The Book Thief” I actually really like Liesel. She is a pretty cool character in this book and not because she is the main character.
